Giannis Antetokounmpo can do a lot of things to beat you. He’s got an extremely rare blend of athleticism, skill, and determination that makes him nigh-unguardable.

Once he gets a full head of steam, he’s close to impossible to stop.

The Lakers learned that the hard way today. Even though Anthony Davis (36 PTS, 10 REB, 5 AST) suited up to help LeBron James (21 PTS, 12 REB, 11 AST), the Lake Show were never able to put their stamp on the game.

They finished the first half down 65-46, and never managed to take the lead away in the 111-104 loss.

One of the big reasons for that was because The Greek Freak decided to discover a three point shooting stroke today. Antentokounmpo (34 PTS, 11 REB, 7 AST) had a very efficient scoring night – including a career-high 5 three pointers made.

He made 5 shots from beyond the arc in only 8 attempts, surprising even himself in the process.

The rest of the NBA will be praying that this is a one-off. A below-average ability from the line is one of Antetokounmpo’s few weaknesses. If defenders eventually have to play him close up because of an improving shot, he’s going to be unstoppable.

You never know, though. He’s one of the hardest workers in the NBA, so he might start putting his focus on getting good at scoring buckets from beyond the arc. He won’t need to shoot like Steph Curry, but if he starts shooting somewhere in the area of 38% from three, the rest of the league might just give up.
